This past week we celebrated a lovely Rosh HaShannah. It was so nice to be with friends and family and celebrate in our new home. We hosted dinner on the 2nd night--it was lovely.. I really enjoyed cooking and preparing for the meal, but most of all I enjoyed having so much love and so many wonderful people in our home.
On Saturday afternoon we ventured into DC and visited the Smithsonian, Museum of Natural History. It was very crowded but really enjoyable. Hersh loved the African Animals and an art installation that was about jellyfish. Yesterday Hersh and Jacob spent the day together while I ventured to the outlet mall in Virginia! I start work on Tuesday (!!!!!) and needed a few new items that will hopefully make getting dressed for work 3 days a week stress free. Then, last night we had our first "adult night" and went into the city, since our good friends from Seattle, Scott and Lisa, are visiting. Our amazing nanny, Sandy, came over and we left. She did dinner, bath, and bed no problem. We feel so fortunate to have someone so caring, kind, and trustworthy that we can rely on to care for Hersh.
Once in DC, we did a drive-by of the US Postal Service Museum and then drove all around the National Mall. We had intended to get out and walk around the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, but we couldn't figure out where to park the car. And the streets around there were so confusing! Overall, Jacob deemed the adventure a success and we all agree! We then had dinner at a great Mexican place called El Corte. A very fun evening was had by all!
Tomorrow I officially begin work and Hersh will begin with the nanny share. The three days a week that I am at work Hersh will be with the nanny and another little boy. The little boy lives just around the corner, and the family is very nice. We feel good about this as our childcare arrangement and just need for everything to be set into motion!
Shana Tovah--a good and sweet new year to everyone!
