5 months

Our baby bear, Clover Pie, is 5 months old.  He is rolling over, eating some solid foods (both hand held and spoon feeding), and is generally the best bonus of our life.  As I am transitioning back to work my heart breaks a little each time I leave him, but I try and stay focused on gratitude. It's hard to believe almost a half year has passed--it's going so quickly.  I sure do love my little delicious Sender Pie:)

Turning 5 in Santa Cruz

This past weekend we hopped on a plane and flew across the country to attend (and officiate) the wedding of our dearest friend Adam, to his new wife, Fife.  It was a family adventure filled with beaches, The Buttery, pastries, The Mystery Spot, Redwoods, Charley Hong Kong's and so much more.  Sender wasnt into west coast sleeping, but other than that he rocked it, nursing a red plum on the plane, and being a perfectly wonderful wedding guest--suspenders and all.  Our dear sweet Lulee bean turned 5!!!!!!!!  How can this be?  She is just delightful--smart, silly, thoughtful, sunny, and creative.  She loves any outing or adventure, and really loved having a birthday, telling us she really felt different when she woke up on her birthday.  She wore her purple birthday dress, and we rode the ferris wheel in honor of her birthday.
The two big kids shared a room and traded nights in the loft bed.  They were perfectly behaved for the sitter, and are truly a delight to experience life with.  So grateful for them:)
Jacob and I had fun at the wedding and delighted in dreaming what life would be like in Northern CA:)

Lewis Family Vaca in the OBX

We've just returned from a beautiful week in the OBX.  It was strange going there without Rich, and we really missed Mimi and Daniel. There were signs of Rich everywhere--all of the things he loved--bike riding, body surfing, big family dinners, and there was a dragonfly.  We did our best to enjoy and focus on gratitude--being with family, the beautiful weather and ocean, the time together as a family.  The kids had a great time with Isaac, Ella, and Emery. Sender was a good sport (as usual) and went with the flow.  He took great naps in the ergo on the beach, and even enjoyed the ocean.  Emily is with us for a few bonus Savta days.Thank you OBX!
