She's back!

Our little Lu is back from a magical time at HSJ, and couldn't be happier.  It seems that every moment, every experience is just perfect there---lots of fun, structure, laughter, silliness, playfulness, friends, counselors, messiness, and JOY!  Lu (known by her formal name to the camp crowd) will be ready for the full month next summer (!!!!).  Her dear little brother is very happy to have her home--as are her parents!  She said that she and Hersh checked in every night at dinner, and that it was sad to say goodbye.  I am so proud of her---she is kind, confidant, smart, and just the sweetest Lu of my life!

Sender is also still a delight--working on his water confidence at the pool, and always ready for the next adventure.  We miss you Hersh!

Just Sender:)

Although we miss the big kids, it has been a true treat to have just Sender as our "only" these past two weeks.  Beyond the fact that we've had much less housework (laundry, food prep, groceries, cleaning), we've been able to focus in on Sender--what he wants to do, what he has to say. We went to the beach last weekend for a quick "one-kidcation" and it was such a pleasure to listen to him share his ideas with us--no interruptions.  Two quotes I captured:

"What do witches wear--skirts or black smelly pants?"......"The anger makes the pants smelly."

"When boats and planes sail and fly away they look like tiny specks blinking."

Hersh forgot his sneakers and retainer at home, and both kids wish the food at camp wasnt so meat heavy.  But from the letters and pictures they seem to be so happy--grateful!

Down South!

It's been a busy few weeks!  I went to VT for a visit with Matt and Meghan.  Then a quick turnaround and we flew to Little Rock.  We enjoyed time with Savta and other friends and family, as well as lots of time at Martha Lou's pool (including all the ice cream).  I just love and am grateful for Little Rock.  We then drove to Utica and dropped the big kids at HSJ.  Hersh was psyched to be at camp, and AlteLu gathered all of her bravery and off she went.  I miss them both, but Sender is enjoying his one kid life (although has expressed missing his siblings).  He says funny words like --hand satanzatizer, schweeping, and a word that is supposed to be "meringues" but is much cuter:)
