Savta's House!

This past weekend we got on the plane and flew to Savta's house--all of which was very exciting for all of us--and especially Sender.  Sender kept reminding us, "flying, plane, Savta's house!"  Little Rock is so special to us, and we are so glad we went to visit.  Sunshine, Savta, family, and all the Little Rock things--library, tree farm, Lakeside, Murray Park, Lake Willestine, Sonic, the Big Dam Bridge, Hacienda, and Shabbat dinner.  Savta had special biscuits for breakfast, allowed lots of TV to be watched in her cozy bed, and so many hugs.  Rich is always with us, and always missed.  Everywhere we turn, Rich is there, and we try to just feel love, not sadness in missing him.

The kids also love Little Rock and all of the special/ritualized things that are our time in Little Rock. Frog eggs, mah jong, and just being together.  I realize I dont want things to change.  I want time to freeze, and to hold on tight to everyone.

Today Lu is 6.5--what a lady!  She is growing up and is beginning to experience some of the things--choices, emotions, experiences, that come with growing. I am working hard to parent her properly and figure out what that means, since it's different from what Hersh has needed.  Hersh is witty and kind, and has learned to take a deep breath and think before emotions become to big.  And both big kids are so amazing with Sender---loving, kind, playful, helpful, and patient.  Hersh likes to gently harass Sender at times, and Lu is always willing to play in the play nook for a few minutes--they are truly the greatest gifts.

Kitchen reno!

Well, in the world of 1st world problems, we've come out the other side of our 4 week kitchen renovation. It looks beautiful and we are looking forward to getting back to cooking!

The kids are growing and changing everyday, and I find that I need to remind myself to be the parent that they each need, depending on what they are experiencing in their own moment.  9.5, 6.5, and almost 2, are very different stages of development.  Love them all, and I am aware of how quickly it is going--lots of gratitude:)
