Lewis Family Vacation 2017

We've just returned from an epic trip down south--first to Little Rock, then to HSJ in Utica, MS, and then LFV in Destin, FL. Little Rock was brief but we had our perfect Little Rock day--library, Whole Foods (with lunch), and swimming at Martha Lou's. Then we headed to MS and Hersh had his very first sleep away camp experience.  He was a bit nervous, and the moment of separation was a little tough.  Yet, he had an amazing time--ate a ton of PBJ and snacks, did the wet willy, zip line swing, jumped off the top bunk, and so much more.  Can't wait til next summer!
Next, we headed to Destin, where the whole family was reunited.  It had been 2 years since we'd been together in this way, and it was much needed.  Time to discuss, support, share, and enjoy.  The beach was beautiful, the pool quite small (AlteLu can officially swim!), the ice cream plentiful, and the house next door to ours had the most amazing blue lights.  Hersh and AlteLu enjoyed being "babysat" by Aunt Mimi and Uncle DanDan while Jacob and I went to the movies!  We had a great "siblings night" out at a restaurant with perfect atmosphere (thanks Valentina!), and there was lots of time for dress up with Isaac.  There was time for the outlet malls and thrift shops, gaming, and even some Simpsons.  The most intense part of the trip was surrounding our dearest Sabba with all of the love and support we can collectively muster.  We are all hoping, wishing, and praying that modern medicine will heal the man we all love so.
To finish the trip off, Jacob lost the car keys, Mimi and I got ICED coffee, and AlteLu got to sit with Mimi and DanDan on the plane.  We're already looking forward to the next LFV.
