Hola, from Little Rock!

How quickly the days are passing here in Little Rock.  I can't believe that we've been here for 2 1/2 weeks--it has been wonderful!  We have been lucky enough to spend time with family and Hersh has been able to play with his friend Frances (who is just 2 weeks older than him) and her sister and brother, Vivian and Bauer.  I have been able to practice yoga which has been invigorating and Jacob is preparing for his trip to Miami for a conference.

Jacob and I had the opportunity to take a quick trip down to Isla Mujueres which is in the Caribbean Sea, just off of Cancun.  We left Hersh for 3 nights with his Sabba and Savta.   The sunshine was amazing and the water a crystal clear blue.  We missed Hersh very much, but he was in loving hands, and we enjoyed being away.  We snorkeled, read, relaxed in the sun, and even rented a golf cart to drive around the island, which was as fun as it sounds!

Hersh currently has a cold and we are hoping her gets better soon.  This weekend we are planning to drive to Memphis for the day to visit with some of Jacob's childhood friends, whom we just love!

Tonight for dinner we will have vegetarian chili and cornbread.  Hersh hasn't had chili before, but we expect him to like it, as thus far, he hasn't minded a little spice.  Hope that you are currently enjoying some spice in your life!

Hersh is very happy to wake up from nap and visit with Savta:

Hersh relaxes in the recliner at Sabba's office while Ima and Abba get their teeth cleaned!

Hersh chatting with his cousins, Laura and Leila.

Beautiful sunset over the Big Damn Bridge.

Finishing our walk over the Bridge.

Hersh really liked Leila's boots.

Isla Mujeres:
Amazingly blue water.

Jacob enjoys reading on the beach.

The Old Graveyard--a pirate is buried here.

View from our hotel room.

Happy after snorkeling.

Delicious Mexican lunch over looking the Caribbean Sea.

  1. Love the post. Surprised you didn't get to borrow a Kindle for the trip! Were there lots of mujeres on the isla?

  2. also, hersh looks really grown up and big in the picture at the dentist. but then he's slobbering on a toy, so the image is kind of ruined.
