This past weekend we were blessed with a visit from the soon to be bride and groom, Aunt Mimi and Daniel. To say that out kids were tickled pink for them to be here, would be an understatement. AlteLu told me, "Aunt Mimi is mine." We visited the zoo, had a fire pit with s'mores, ate Chinese Food and just enjoyed being together. The kids played music with Daniel, and lots of books were read.
We love these people so!

Time with my sugarpies
One of the greatest gifts of being a mother has been the time I get to spend with each of child, both when they are together, but also when I have the opportunity to just be one-on-one. Whether it's doing something super fun, like dance class, riding the metro, or a bike ride, or just going to Trader Joe's and Costco, I treasure each and every day, each and every moment, each and every nap-time tuck-in.
Earlier this week I had the opportunity to attend Hersh's birthday lunch at JPDS--it was so sweet and I can't believe he will be 7! And Hersh was so happy to have me there--he sat leaning into me, we chatted, canoodled--it was heavenly! Hersh is also reading Harry Potter on his own, and he and Jacob finished reading The Hobbit together.
Yesterday, AlteLu and I were in the car on the way to Trader Joe's and she said, "You know I need a husband when I become a grown-up, Ima." I responded, "Oh yeah? What kind of husband would you like to have?" She said, "A boy who is nice, grown-up, and brave. He should garden and his name should be Abba. And my Abba should be my husband." I tried to let her know she may want to choose someone else, since he's already taken, but she would hear none of it. Love them so!

A visit with Zeyde
This weekend we had a wonderful visit with the one and only, Zeyde. He flew in from Chicago and began reading, playing, and Legoing immediately. We had our usual hang out day, filled with shopping, lunching, and lots of chit chat. Then a joyous Shabbat, in which we were joined by the Aplebaums. We will miss him until his next visit.

Purim & a Snow Day (finally)
This past weekend we officially celebrated Purim with a megillah reading, attended by a black bear and a ballerina monster,
Then, today, we finally had our snow day--pancakes, perler beads, snow outings, chocolate muffins, and Candy Land filled our day. AlteLu has taken to calling us all, "My darling," and when asked what prize some children should receive, she responded, "Apple Computers!" Hersh hasn't been to school in almost a week, and with only a small mishap of not being able to find his way home, he has enjoyed his time at home. He is greatly improving at piano, is a champion sledder, and has very clear ideas about how things should be. Oh, and the kids tried Mochi today--Hersh loved it, AlteLu, not so much.

Hamantaschen time
Here we are in March, and it's Hamantaschen time--how did that happen so quickly? As usual, we had a great time baking, and then assembling our Mishloach Manot. The kids are in turn eager to see if we receive any:)
