Inside their brains...

AlteLu is in a stage where she is saying the funniest things--she's been telling me, "You're amazing!"  Or "I can't help it!", and, "that's cute!"  Yesterday at dinner she told Jacob (Or Avi as she's been calling him), "Our forks are SIMILAR, Avi."  On our hike a stick was a frog named "Fafa,"  And for some reason she's been calling me Emoo as opposed to Ima.
Hersh is in a stage of thinking about why's--why are flowers good? why is the sky blue? why do we have to go to school?
Both of them are the best people we know.  We enjoyed a family hike yesterday, and are preparing for the month of April:)

Purim Prep

With spring in the air, we are enjoying afternoons outside, flipflops, and the budding of flowers all around us.  AlteLu is taking a dance class, Hersh started back up with soccer, and continues to breakdance at school.  This time of year also brings the joyous holiday of Purim!  We have been busy making hamantaschen and making sure our costumes are just right.  Hersh will be a karate man and AlteLu a leaf.  Hersh was also HaMelech Ahashveros in the play at school.  When I picked him up from school, all the teachers gushed about what an amazing Melech he was.
The Kleins came down for a visit from Philly.  We all enjoyed our time together, just allowing the kids to play, the grown-ups to chit chat, and some hamantaschen to be enjoyed.  We are so fortunate to have our children grow up with their cousins so close by. And then the Aplebaums came to the OK Purim Carnival!   I truly love family days!

Italy/London

I've just returned from a week and half away from my family, having traveled to Italy and then Londontown.  In Italy I spent the weekend in Venice, and then had the great fortune of studying for a week in Reggio Emilia, Italy.  Then it was off to London for a weekend of girl time with my beloved Katie B.
My two little loves were well cared for by the best Abba, and most generous, loving Savta, an Ima could ask for.  There were park outings, and library trips, plays attended, and favorite foods (blintzes, papusas, tamales) eaten, and lots of gorgeous spring time weather enjoyed.  Upon my return Hersh reported that Savta and Abba took very good care of him and AlteLu.  AlteLu is the little boss lady, constantly telling an involved story, singing a new song, or just making herself busy.
Although I am grateful for my time away, being home with my sweet family is where I belong.  Next on the agenda--spring cleaning!
