What a month August was---2 weeks of incredible family vacation and the start of the school year---whoosh!
We spent an incredible week in the PNW--Bend w Adam, Fife, and Maya, Portland lunch with Daniel Lincoln, and a magical time on the Olympic Peninsula. We tide pooled, tiny housed, Natl Parked, ate pastries, chased the sunset, saw alllll the wildlife, visited Cape Flattery, swam in a secret waterfall, hot tubbed, had picnics, and just enjoyed the magic of being together. We then concluded with a banger 48 hrs in Seattle, in which Jacob and I showed the kids all of our spots--our house, Richmond Beach, the Ballard locks, Lake Washington, the Pike Place Market (x), the Kingston to Edmonds Ferry, a farmers market, the Gum Wall (thanks, Lu!) and more. We concluded with the bar mitzvah of our dear friends.
We then flew across the country for Lewis Fam Vaca in the OBX--which was perfect--lots of love, laughter, ocean, pool, hot tub, crabbing, surfing, dune hang gliding, and just being together.
Now the kids have started school which is so bittersweet. We are proud of them and at the same time wishing we all had a bit more summer.
