We're just back from a whirlwind 10 days--OBX>DCL>Mondegreen>Lu turning 11! Our time in OBX in Lewis Family Vaca was beautiful as always. We stayed next to the pier in Rodanthe--we tried surfing (lesson needed next time!), puzzled, biked, cooked, swam, walked lots of beach miles and enjoyed the beauty of the cousins being together. Then we drove 8 hours and headed to Deep Creek Lake for Aplebaum Family Vacation which was a total blast. Two full days of boating, music, laughing, movies and games. It's truly remarkable to have these amazing family times each summer. Uncle LoLo and Rhea graciously took our children home so Jacob and I could go to day 4 of Mondegreen---a total treat. We had a blast dancing in the sun for 3 hours and because the show was moved to the afternoon, we drove home and had the pleasure of being in our own beds. Then, yesterday, our family queen, Alte Luna, turned 11. How can it be that our lady is on the cusp of being a teenager. She is so lovely--kind, smart, playful, and perfectly 11. Middle School will be an adjustment--lots of school work, accountability, and responsibility. Hersh has HS orientation on Thursday...and Sender will go back for 1st grade. Jacob and I need patience, energy, and lots of positive vibes!
