We've been having a wonderful Hanukah filled with singing, candles, and the sheer delight that a 3 year old feels when celebrating this joyous holiday. Hersh loves lighting the Hanukiah, playing dreidel, singing the songs, and eating the Hanukah foods. He is all about our Hanukah story books, and thinks that we should decorate our house with Hanukah lights. I have to say though, I think that one of the purest forms of his delight comes each night when we give him a small gift. First of all, he is genuinely surprised that there is a gift. Second of all, when he opens the gift, he says, "Ima, it's _______!" The way he says it so genuine in that he truly does not know that I'm the one who bought the gift, wrapped it, and gave it to him. He expects me to be just as surprised about what the gift is as he is about the gift. It is so sweet. I am loving his innocence and genuine enthusiasm. But, the best Hanukah gift is our new nephew who was born early Tuesday morning. We can't wait to meet him next week when we head back to Addie and Craig's house for the bris! Also, we think that Alte is going to roll over any day now. Probably time to unswaddle her :)
