We are in OBX enjoying an amazing week at the beach, and then on Friday, our dear sweet AlteLu will turn 3. She is such a smart, funny, strong willed, creative, imaginative little love. She calls anything she is taking care of (including Hersh, ghost crabs, and the washer/dryer) "Little Ones, Cuties, or My Babies." AlteLu has been thinking a lot about what different animals--including giraffes and zebras--say. Here at the beach she is singing on the "fireplace bimah," and has been surfing on her "puppy," our boogie board. Hersh is rocking the beach, catching waves, ghost crabbing, biking, loving life. He reads and draws with such precision and skill. And the two of them are best friends (mostly).

Rehoboth!
Last weekend we had the good fortune of spending the weekend in Rehoboth with our good friends, The Gratz Family. All 4 of us swam in the ocean, consumed ice cream, and watched the Olympics! AlteLu told us she was not going to nap in the car, but of course, did, as did Hersh, who passes out like a champ. Hersh enjoyed Funland, while AlteLu and I waited on the beach. She loved looking for beautiful shells, and sand crab hunting is a favorite activity for all. I packed enough picnic punch to feed 6 children plus numerous adults, and was very satisfied by this. We had to stop swim lessons, as AlteLu was not into them--try again next year. We have the feeling she will keep us on our toes. Now to savor the last few weeks of summer. And in one week our sweetest lady will be 3! How quickly time is passing, what an incredible almost 3 year old she is. Oh, and Hersh has his first loose tooth!

Jersey Shore!
We took a quick trip to the Jersey Shore, and had an amazing time--Howell, Manasquan, Avon-by-the-Sea, bagels, pizza, and the very best lifetime friends a girl could ask for. It was bizarre to drive around my childhood neighborhood, show the kids my house, school, etc. Hersh enjoyed taking it all in, and loved wave jumping. AlteLu enjoyed herself as well, although the beach was a little bit too windy, telling me, "I'm not that into it:)." Today Bamombelle turns 93 (!)--hooray! We are trying to avoid as much Trump vs. Hilary propaganda as we can. We also had AlteLu's home visit from her new teachers--Barbara and Ally--should be a great year! Now we are eagerly anticipating an email from Hersh's school--he's ready to know who his teachers will be and which friends will be in his class. Our little lady also had her first swim lesson!
