Thanksgiving 2016

What a wonderful Thanksgiving, full of friends, family, adventures, and food.  After a wonderful Friendsgiving Wednesday night, and then breakfast with the Aplebaums, we drove to Philly for a Lewis/Klein weekend.  Everyone was so happy to be together.  The kids all played nicely, AlteLu loves her best friend, Aunt Meem, and Hersh rocked it at Digger Land.  We went on a lovely Fall walk with the Ambalus, and even had an adults night out.  There was lots of drum playing, adventures in the tent, and even some wrestling and yoga.  Hersh is an amazing young mensch, and he read to Isaac so sweetly.  AlteLu and Isaac also loved playing together:)  Now we are back home and settling in for the month of December.

From 65 to 35

This weekend was absolutely beautiful (Saturday), totally frigid (Sunday), and we had a great time both days.  We had Shabbat dinner with friends, attended the SS Thanksgiving Parade, baked lots of rolls, did lots of chores (including endless raking), and went to the museum.  Our two chickadees are both fighting coughs, and are excited for Thanksgiving.  More and more they are recognizing the best friendship that exists between them, and with each passing day, I am more and more in love with them:) (and their wonderful Abba)

Life keeps happening

The days come, and the days go, and we must do all we can to stay grounded and grateful.  I had the good fortune of travelling to Burlington to visit my dearest friend, Meghan.  Jacob and the kids had a great weekend while I was away.  Then the election happened.  All I can say is disappointment, heartbreak, anxiety, and unsuredness are surrounding us.
This weekend we did have a visit from our favorite Zeyde, plus members of the Aplebaum Family, who we love so.  I am grateful for all the love that is in our life, regardless of the tumult surrounding us in the world.
We had Hersh's parent teacher conference, and our boy couldn't make us any prouder.  He is a wonderful student and a true mentsch.  We are working on supporting him and he figures out the value of hard work--both in swimming and piano.  He is enjoying reading, playing Simon, and building from the Lego architecture series.
AlteLu is crazy and delightful.  She is sweet and hilarious, persistent and brilliant.  Upon declaring that she DOES NOT like hummus in her quesadilla, she proceeded to then ask for hummus to dip her carrots in--all we can do is laugh.  Our two chickadees have been playing "doctor" with different parts of the house serving as hospital, waiting room, and doctors office.  We have also been spending a lot of time raking.

Halloween!

Halloween was a total hit around our house.  We were all Razorbacks--wooo pig soooieee!  The kids had a great time dressing up, carving jack-o-lanterns, and of course, trick-or-treating.  AlteLu couldn't believe what was happening.  After each house she would run to us and say, "Guys, that lady just told me to take a huge handful of candy."  I only wish I could've captured her running narrative.
